How to Style a Jumpsuit

Jumpsuits have to be one of my favorite clothing pieces. Its versatility allows for endless possibilities of styling, and they instantly give you a glam look. I owe quite a few jumpsuits, and everytime I wear one, I find a new way to accessorize it, giving it a completely new life. My favorite kinds are the ones with the culotte legs because they hit right above the ankle, and you can pair them with flats, heels, and sneakers alike.

To me, the beauty of a jumpsuit comes in the fact that whether you wear one with prints or not, you can always add a blazer to bring the sophistication out, or a statement belt to create an instant curvy silhouette. Of course, when it comes to jewelry, more is always the answer. A fitting jumpsuit is flattering to almost any body type because they cover the right parts while accentuating the ones you want to expose.

Today, I want to give you a few tips on how to style different types of jumpsuits. These are easy tips you can apply to your favorite pieces.

Striped Jumpsuit

A striped jumpsuit is a staple of any summer wardrobe. If you find or have one, specially made out of linen, you’ll be set to look great while keeping the summer sweat out. Pair it with some booties, a Panama hat, and a statement necklace to complete your look.

Black Jumpsuit

Having a unicolor jumpsuit is the key to versatility. You can add different jackets or cover-ups on top and give it a new life every time. Pair it with a printed denim jacket, a colorful bootie, and don’t forget to add a belt to cinch your waist and enhance your gorgeous curves!

Denim Jumpsuit

A denim jumpsuit is that one piece you can wear at any season. Whether is summer, fall, or winter, you can always use this and style it up however you want. Add a pair of black loafers, a biker hat, a colorful statement necklace and cocktail ring to add a pop of color a la Iris Apfel.

Plaid Jumpsuit

Channel your Gwen Stefani with a plaid jumpsuit! While you can wear it by itself, add a long sleeve blouse to give it a boost. Pair it with black booties and a colorful belt, and you’ll be good to go.

I hope you incorporate these tips into your wardrobe. Tag #alternativelychic to show me your creations!
