Because only phenomenal things come out of a true love for fashion, music and craft beer, Alternatively Chic was created by me, Vanessa Guerrero. At first the thought of combining the three variants mentioned felt like mixing strawberry jam and mashed potatoes, but as the thought keep drilling in my head, the more the puzzle pieces came together. It was a no brainer to know that fashion and music go hand in hand and almost feed off each other. Yet thanks to the ever growing craft beer industry, all that is seen at local breweries are people sporting different fashions and blasting music, while sipping on refreshing brews; therefore making those three planets align.

I will be honest and say that while my admiration for the craft beer universe is only a few years old (we can blame my husband for that!) I have been a fashion and music junkie since I was in my mother’s womb. Although, never in a million years I would think of making a living out of my love for those three factors, I can now say dreams do come true in this lifetime. Alternatively Chic is then dedicated to deliver the latest news and trends in the fashion industry, along with a spotlight on the hottest musical acts and a taste of the delicious craft beer world.

Writing has been part of my life since my first career choice was to become a music journalist, work for AltPress Magazine and live out of a suitcase to follow bands all over the world. But when I found myself admiring the craftsmanship and intriguing fashion industry, I knew that is where my heart truly belonged. Fashion is my inspiration everyday since that is the perfect way people can express themselves without saying one word and play with reality at the same time.

Although I have been a Floridian for over 15 years, I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Caracas-Venezuela, so it’s safe to assume my heart belongs to arepas and the mountains of El Avila. I am currently residing in the sunny city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida where I enjoy quality time with my husband and family, laughs with friends, music hunts, fashion sprees, craft beer discoveries and kisses from my dog nephew Henry Higgins.
