Two thousand seventeen is looking to be one of the most exciting years for the fashion scene in Fort Lauderdale. This is the debut year of Underground Lauderdale Fashion Weekend, a program created to showcase the work of world renowned designers, rising stars, a fashion marketplace, as well as numerous parties. The event counts with a fashion show headlined by Nicole Miller and hosted by “Project Runway” judge Nina Garcia.

The glamorous evening will not only be promoting local and national talent, but it also intends to give Fort Lauderdale the spotlight it deserves. Ian Gerard, the show’s producer, said: “It’s time to let the rest of the country know that Fort Lauderdale is a fashionable, stylish place.” During the event, Miller will be presenting her 2017 Spring Collection, and national organizations IVY and Create & Cultivate, gathered labels like SAUNDERS, Descendant of Thieves and Zoey Reva to be in charge of runway shows and fashion presentations.

As part of the program, a Fashion Marketplace will operate in a separate section of the venue, where attendees will be able to buy the looks right off the runway, in addition to buying accessories and garments design by South Florida talents. The weekend will close with an electrifying New York City-style party hosted by the known event producer, Susanne Bartsch.

Underground Lauderdale Fashion Weekend will be based in the exciting/fun FAT Village Art District and will count with the following schedule:

7-10pm: Kick-Off Cocktail Reception presented by The Colonnade @ Sawgrass Mill (event held @ Ritz Carlton’s Burlock Coast)
