Keiser Karl did it again and took Paris’s Grand Palais for his Fall 17 Haute Couture show. In all Karl fashion, the set was impressive and nothing other than a recreation of the Eiffel Tower. Guests sat on metal chairs and the A-list attendees went from Tilda Swinton to Katy Perry, Cara Delevingne, Kristen Stewart, Claudia Schiffer, Julianne Moore and Mario Testino.

The clothes were the epitome of Paris and paid a true homage to Coco herself. There were various iterations of tweed, stone-colored hues, ankle-length dress coats and puffed-out sleeves. The styling took everyone back to the 20th century, as the models wore Coco’s signature boater hat, along with pearl stud earrings.

The show closed with the Chanel “bride” whose A-line gown took everyone’s breath away. This collection was made to represent the elegance of the women during the 20th century, as all the garments came adorned with crystals, pearls, and feathered rosettes.

At the end of the show, the 83-year old powerhouse was awarded Paris’ highest honor, the Médaille Grand Vermeil de la Ville. The award was presented to him by the city’s mayor, Anne Hidalgo, and with it, Lagerfeld’s dedication and service to the city of Paris were recognized.
