Chanel brought the power of nature to the Grand Palais with its Spring/Summer 18 collection. This time around, Lagerfeld mimicked the vertiginous cliffs and waterfalls of the Gorges du Verdon inside the Palais. The scenery was so well constructed that it truly made believe you were in that precise spot in the South of France, while the clothes matched this extraordinary concept.
Clear plastic boaters and thigh-high plastic boots were paired with every look. The house tweeds were paired with fringes and clear plastic capes. This collection showcased Chanel’s workmanship and the intricate balance between natural-looking texture and advanced tailoring.
