Unlike recent couture shows, this past Haute Couture Week marked the return of impeccable dressmaking. Rigour and elegance were seen in every show, putting behind any trace of simplicity. There was no doubt each designer wanted to walk away from the streetwear craze, in hopes to keep the essence of the fashion industry.
From Chanel to Dior, it seemed each house only focused on making beautiful garments to make women look like dames. Mr. Georgio Armani even went as far as openly expressing his need to show the younger generations the beauty of the old-school fashion.
Bringing haute couture back to its origins almost seemed daring and progressive in today’s era, where laid-back designs are in and feminity has walked out of the door. Take a cue from Valentino, whose vision oozed a colorful dream rooted in the reality of making clothes.
