Karl Lagerfeld did it again and managed to outdo himself with his latest collection. His Spring 2017 Haute Couture collection was presented in the Grand Palais in Paris, and it simply blew everyone’s minds. The glimmering set was made up of mirrored surfaces that reflected every angle of every look. This time around, Lagerfeld managed to mix the iconic power suits with pussy bows and turned each piece into the perfect couture garment.
For this collection, Lagerfeld was inspired by Alberto Giacometti’s 1920s sculpture of the Spoon Woman, by sculpting skirts into ovoid shapes and padding out slender hips. This airy shape breathed new life into the traditional tweed suit and gave the garment a modern point of view. Each look was the true definition of a power woman, and what she looks like via bold shouldered silhouettes, high drawn waists, square buckled belts, coat dresses, tiered skirts and even glitter pastels.
