Fall Out Boy is Coming Back with a Menace

Chicago natives, Fall Out Boy released a new single, announced a new album and an upcoming tour all in a day. Their new album called M A N I A is set to hit the stores on September 15 and their North American tour will embark this fall. In the meantime, they delighted all of their fans with a new song and video, and in all FOB fashion, they did not disappoint.

The song titled “Young and Menace” deals with rage and anxiety along with conflicted realities. According to bassist Pete Wentz, “The concept is the idea of a movie like Elf, where he realizes maybe he isn’t an elf after all, but ours has less comedic elements and more real world implication.”

While we have a long way to go until the album drops, it is certain the band is moving away from their punk and rock n’ roll sounds, and are diving into the EDM and electronic wave. Heavy synth, high vocals from Stump, and a touch of dubstep showcase their evolution with this track.
